The strategy convergence as way to increase marathon runners competitiveness

The article presents authors interpretations of such concepts as convergence, convergent approach, strategy and strategic planning. Various options of investigated categories usage in the context of different areas of scientific knowledge are presented by the author. The author states that the marathoners’ competitiveness increase in modern conditions is possible at several strategic directions convergence. They are as follows: the competitiveness potential formation; the potential realization in the conditions of a concrete competitive event; the athletes’ motivation formation to perform in socially significant competitions; the selection of athletes with the high level of potential opportunities.
