Food reserve is a guarantee of effective dairy cattle breeding in Udmurt Republic

In Udmurt Republic the genetic potential of milk productivity of cattle is 7900 kg. It realizes on 65% (4939 kg.). In the last five years volumes of feed conservation considerably vary. The total land acreage of feed crops is 1039, 7 hectares, among them perennial grasses are cultivated on lands with acreage more than 520 000 hectares. The main staple feed crops are cow clover (51% of sowings of perennial grasses) and alfalfa (20,5%). The growth of milk productivity takes place due to the improvement of feed quality, increase of concentrated parts of rations and its use in the form of all-mash.
