Corporate culture: on the formation stages of the concept

The article examines such a phenomenon of social life as corporate culture. The author develops a variant of periodization for the formation of this concept, taking into account various ideas about the analyzed phenomenon traceable in the studies of sociologists and economists. There are three main stages of this process: pre-institutional stage - until the end of the XIX century, institutional stage - from the end of the XIX century to the 1980s, the modern stage - from the 1980s of the XX century. A brief characteristic of each of these periods is formulated outlining the distinctive features of each stage. The expediency of the proposed variant of periodization, allowing to avoid excessive detailing of the analysis process of corporate culture concept formation, in comparison with the currently accepted way of presenting the evolution of this category, is justified.
