Text corpus as an object for linguistic research: an overview of the Corpus para la historia del espa~nol en el uruguay

This article provides an overview of the text corpus Corpus para la Historia del Español en el Uruguay, which contains personal letters, private and official documents written in the territory that is now Uruguay from 1726 to 1904. The texts, which were published in two volumes and then became part of the CORDIAM corpus, are of great interest to scholars studying the history of the Uruguayan Spanish. This is the first article in Russian Hispanic studies to describe the text corpus in question.
