Correction of the natural resistance of the body of calves

The aim of the work was to study in a comparative aspect the natural resistance and productivity of calves when using the immune stimulant healthvit and plant polysaccharide. The studies were carried out on two groups of calves, selected according to the principle of analogues, taking into account the clinical and physiological state, age, sex, breed, body weight with a pronounced decrease in resistance, 5 animals in each group. Some temperature deviations (up to 11.5±0.5-13.4±0.9 0С) and relative air humidity (up to 78.5-82.5 %) from the required norms were observed in the winter and transition periods of the year, which is explained by insufficient air exchange in the room. The concentration of harmful gases in 1 m3 of air did not exceed the maximum allowable level. To increase the natural resistance of the calves of the 1st group, helsivit was administered intramuscularly, and the 2nd group - plant polysaccharide at the rate of 1.33 mg/kg twice with an interval of 3 days. The studied drugs contributed to the increase of cellular and humoral factors of the body's defense. The best effect was from plant polysaccharide. It had a noticeable beneficial effect on the level of total protein by 8.46 %, phagocytic activity of leukocytes by 13.4 %, bactericidal activity of blood serum by 6.2 % relative to the control.
