The urgent need for medical activity

The article is devoted to topical issues of the institution of extreme necessity and its implementation in medical practice. The criteria for the legitimacy of extreme necessity in relation to the actions of medical workers are considered. The conditions for the legitimacy of extreme necessity are analyzed, situations in which a medical worker is forced, under the competition of objective circumstances, to make a decision in a state of extreme necessity when performing his professional duties. In conclusion, the authors conclude that the doctor’s actions to prevent a threat to the patient’s life are not only not illegal, but also socially useful.
