The fortress artist of the Urals: Strokes to the portrait. “Women’s issue” in the works of I. S. Doshchenikov

The creative heritage of the self-taught artist I. S. Doschenikov (1812–1893). The conditions of the environment in which the talent of the painter was formed and developed, the main directions and results of his creative activity are revealed. Particular attention is paid to his works on the complex “women's issue” in Russian society in the 19th century. A statement is made about the originality and originality of the paintings of the painter, whose works of everyday life, satirical genre are a vivid example of provincial art of the pre-Soviet period.
