Forensic investigation of the identity of the participant in the criminal process

In this article the question of the identity of the participant of process as object of research in criminalistics is considered. A review of the development of research in this area. The author investigates the process of formation of the theory of forensic personality research in foreign and domestic criminology. The chronological stages and key studies that determined the development of the theory are highlighted. The ways of improvement of methodological and theoretical basis of the investigated area of criminalistic teaching are offered. In addition, the article analyzes the provisions of the criminal procedure legislation regulating the conduct of forensic psychological examination, directly related to the study of the personality of the participant in the process. The author draws a conclusion about the need to improve the legislation, and offers specific ways to solve this problem.
