The article is written on the basis of the results of the XIVth Scientific-Practical Conference «Actual Problems of Fighting Crime in Siberian Region» which was held on the 17 February 2011 at the Siberian Law Institute of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia (Krasnoyarsk). The criminological characteristic of crime in Siberian Federal District and short-term forecast of crime are considered and the basic content of scientific forum recommendations is presented in the article.
