Criminological characteristics of cybercrime at the present stage of society's development

The article is devoted to the study of cybercrime as a socio-legal phenomenon of modern society. The author analyzes statistical data on the number of crimes committed in the field of information and telecommunication technologies over the past three years. The article reveals the concept of cybercrime, its types and features, as well as measures to counter cybercrime. Special attention is paid to the problems associated with the high level of latency of such crimes, their widespread geographical distribution, insufficient legislative regulation, and difficulties in the operational suppression of such crimes. The author presented some solutions to these problems and ways to prevent cybercrimes.
