The article reveals the specificity of interest to the creative work of Christopher Marlowe, the outstanding representative of the Renaissance. This interest was depicted in the works of M.P. Alekseev, the founder of Leningrad school of comparative and historical literary criticism. The articles of Yu.D. Levin and V.Y. Bagno, representatives of M.P. Alekseev school, show only episodic mentions of Marlowe.
