Criteria for the Effectiveness of the Collective Mental Model of Military Personnel Interaction

Based on the analysis of scientifi c literature, an overview of team mental models is presented, which are understood as simplifi ed schemes of the surrounding reality, criteria for the eff ectiveness of the collective mental model of interaction between military personnel. It is noted that such models facilitate interaction between military personnel, therefore, they increase the eff ectiveness of tasks in military professional activities. It is revealed that the eff ectiveness of the mental model is achieved due to the following parameters: generality, coordination and accuracy. It is shown that commonality determines the activation of similar knowledge, experience, motives, and values among military personnel and is implemented at the component level. Coordination is a high degree of coherence between the actions of military personnel with various functional responsibilities in order for a military unit to eff ectively perform a service and combat task. This criterion refers to the subsystem level. Accuracy is the coincidence of individual mental models with an expert model for solving service and combat tasks of military professional activity. This criterion is related to the metasystem level of the model's functioning. It is concluded that the eff ectiveness of the functioning of collective mental models is a prerequisite for the eff ective performance of offi cial and professional tasks by a military unit in peacetime and during a special military operation.
