The article analyzes the procedures for limiting constitutional rights of an individual in pre-trial proceedings through the use of procedural coercion measures and investigative actions. Based on the analysis of the norms of criminal procedural legislation, the doctrine of criminal procedure, as well as law enforcement practice, the author identifies criteria for choosing the appropriate procedure (judicial, non-judicial or mixed).
