Миграция населения в 21-м веке остается одной из самых спорных и устойчивых социальных и политических проблем во всем мире. Для отдельных мигрантов трудности, связанные с переворотом, потерей и урегулированием, вероятно, увеличат их восприимчивость к развитию психических проблем со здоровьем. В статье поднимаются актуальные вопросы этнопсихиатрии, связанные с факторами, способствующими росту депрессивной симптоматики у мигрантов. Особое внимание уделяется этническим и культуральным факторам, влияющим на особенности протекания депрессии у представителей этнических меньшинств.
