The author describes the organization of a round table as one of the interactive methods for holding events on the history of Russia in extracurricular activities. The main purpose of the event is to discuss the concept, various aspects of the process of forming the state-civil identity of young people. Attention is paid to history: the language policy of the USSR, considerable work on the actual alignment of the peoples of the country. The author considers the main directions of preparing students to discuss the problems of ethnic, state identity. The main ways of active penetration of the English language through advertising, TV programs, names of shop signs in the provincial Shadrinsk into the Russian language space are analyzed. A sociological survey of students of the Humanitarian Institute was conducted in order to identify their attitude to English names in the city. Invited representatives of the Assembly of the Peoples of the Trans-Urals revealed the problems of relations between nationalities in the Kurgan region, outlined ways to educate civic identity among students in educational institutions. The materials of the study will be useful for teachers of educational organizations.
