Timely diagnosis of postoperative consequences, in the form of detection and control of tissue foreign bodies in patients under combat trauma conditions, can prevent the development of complications and improve the quality of life of the patient. Clinical observations after surgical interventions on the abdominal cavity and pelvic cavity of different time periods are considered in the article. CT studies were performed on the following GE CT scanners: Light Speed, Discovery RT. When formulating conclusions, differential diagnostics between tissue foreign bodies and postoperative complications in the form of abscesses and hematomas was performed, assumption was made about the structure of foreign bodies (gauze napkin or hemostatic sponge) and presence or absence of signs of their infection in each patient. The results of CT studies coincided with intraoperative data on the location, number and size of soft tissue foreign bodies. CT scanning plays an important role in the detection of tissue foreign bodies, especially for patients with combat trauma due to their severe somatic condition and high probability of infection. CT studies help in making the correct diagnosis and play a leading role in surgical practice, allowing to identify their presence and exact location, exclude infection and optimally plan the tactics of patient management, avoiding possible complications.
