Speech culture of an officer: ideal and reality

The article deals with the problems of officers' speech practice in the conditions of general decline of the culture of speech. It is shown how this type of activity is functioning in the actual military reality and what its ideal essence is. The authors substantiate the need for purposeful development of speech culture of military higher school students. It is concluded that the only course of "Russian Language and Culture of Speech" introduced in the curriculum of military educational institutions is not enough to fulfill the task of speech culture development of future officers.
