This article is devoted to problem of cultural and aesthetic development of younger schoolchildren at the present stage of the development of Russian society. The author considers the cultural and aesthetic development of primary school children as the most important condition for the intellectual, aesthetic and moral development of an individual. Junior school age is considered as a sensitive period for the development of aesthetic culture of a man. The article focuses on the need to improve the psychological and pedagogical conditions of the educational environment for achieving the goals and objectives of the cultural and aesthetic development of junior schoolchildren and poses a problem that lies within the established contradiction between the requirements for the person presented by the era and the specific conditions of upbringing and development in which the spiritual culture of a child is formed.
