Culturally specific component of the lexical-semantic field "Art" based on the Chinese language

The article considers results of the associative experiment with the stimulus word 艺术 ("art") conducted among Chinese foreign students studying at Perm State University. The key factor for informants' selection was knowledge of any foreign language at the intermediate and pre-intermediate level that helped to get fairly comprehensive data illustrating specific features of the Chinese mentality. Among reactions author distinguishes words and word combinations with culturally specific component and divide them into thematic groups, characterizing and giving short cultural commentaries to each of them.
