The study attempts to consider the ways and means of designing the future which allow one to stay in the field of reality (the present) and not to fall out of the capacity. At the same time, it is necessary to evaluate and mitigate risks in advance, anticipate the directions from which one should distance oneself. Any ideology, project, cultural, or methodological one, is not inclined to see its own boundaries. The intersection of mental boundaries creates the “slipping” effect, i.e. the borders themselves are overlooked. To eliminate such tendencies, there is a need for a clear explication of the problem field, the creation of a coherent and consistent terminology, and the articulation of possible obstacles when updating problem. In the modern technological society, projective human capabilities are limited by the existing cultural boundaries of society. Social control sets the limits on social forecasting, encourages the development of regulatory design methods, and affects the recognition of techniques for analyzing and evaluating the desirability and the possibility of the proposed developments. The author focuses on the creation and sustained implementation of long-term projects by a modern person. The problem is to be discussed due to the fact that modern technology largely provides satisfactory average living standards for many people without project resources while the transition to above-average level requires both considerable physical and mental efforts.
