The article examines the linguistic and cultural features of the transmission of idiomatic expressions of feelings in English and Kyrgyz. Special attention is paid to the specifics of the formation and use of idioms related to basic emotions — joy, sadness, anger, fear and surprise. Through comparative analysis, cultural, historical and social factors influencing the choice of linguistic images and metaphors in each of the studied languages are identified. The work emphasizes that emotional idioms not only reflect universal human experiences, but also demonstrate the uniqueness of the national worldview, values and traditions. The examples given show that English idiomatic expressions are more often based on everyday realities, bodily reactions and abstract concepts, while Kyrgyz phraseological units are closely linked to the national mentality, nomadic culture, natural phenomena and social relations. The study confirms that idioms, as part of the phraseological system, serve as an important tool for storing the cultural memory of the people, providing interlanguage and intercultural communication.
