Culture hero and trickster: functional and ontological similarities

The article deals with the question of the culture hero functional features and trickster in today's society and the mass consciousness. Culture hero and trickster as important elements of the cultural matrix have a great influence on the state and development of social ontology, which reflect mythological public consciousness. The differences in the public perception of the culture hero and the trickster define a set of tools by which the transformation of social ontology, depending on the tasks facing the society in a particular historical period.
