Cultural landscape - concept and features of legal regulation in German and Russian law

The author considers the peculiarities of legal regulation of complex objects of cultural heritage - cultural landscapes in the Russian Federation and the Federal Republic of Germany. It establishes that a significant gap in Russian legislation is the lack of a single universal definition of the cultural landscape and its features, which prevents the correct identification of cultural heritage sites. In order to effectively protect historical and cultural territories, it proposes to introduce into the Russian legislation a single definition of the notion «cultural landscape».
