The article examines the representation of traditional values within the text of Mikhail Matusovsky’s sole prose work, “Family Album”. It elucidates the distinctive features of the interpretation of these concepts during the mature phase of the author’s literary career. Matusovsky’s writings exemplify a framework for cultivating patriotism among the youth, underscoring the significant impact of family values on personal development. Using a comprehensive research method, including a hermeneutic approach, the article offers an axiological interpretation of the patriotic beginning in the author’s life. Matusovsky’s childhood memories are depicted in the work as symbols of folk and national culture, serving to safeguard readers from the erosion of memory and the severance of connections with the past. “Family Album” is positioned as a moral and artistic resource for patriotic education in the context of globalization. The author argues that education based on family values shapes patriotic feelings, which requires comprehending the memoir text as a translator of spiritual signs. This approach contributes to the strengthening of civic identity in society.
