Smoking is risk factor of lung tuberculosis

Smoking is a risk factor for the development of cardiovascular diseases and lung cancer. Along with this, smoking causes disturbances in the mucociliary apparatus and the immune system, which may predispose to the development of active pulmonary tuberculosis. The article reviews the literature data on the link between smoking and pulmonary tuberculosis.
