Quantitative metaphor with the component “thread” in the Russian and Chinese languages

The article deals with the peculiarities of the quantitative metaphor in the languages with the different structures. The quantitative metaphorical compounds with the component “thread/ 线 ” are analyzed, the structural and semantic similarities and differences in the Russian and Chinese languages are revealed. The analysis is aimed at identifying the features of the formation of the quantitative metaphors.
