This work is devoted to the study of the current state of the state language in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Kyrgyz language is the language of the titular people that formed the sovereign Kyrgyz Republic and one of the ancient Turkic languages. It is fully used as the state language in all spheres of state and public life of the people of Kyrgyzstan. In parallel, according to the Constitution in the Kyrgyz Republic, Russian is used as the official language. Unlike the Central Asian republics, in Kyrgyzstan, the Russian language is practically used at the state level. This paper analyzes the current state and level of respondents' satisfaction with the state language, as well as the development of the state language. The material of the study was the data of the sociological survey "The current state and prospects for the development of the state language" (2021). According to the results of a sociological survey at enterprises in Bishkek and Chui region, the vast majority of business is conducted in Russian, on average - 69.8%, 25.5% of organizations work in 2 languages, and this figure is very small in Kyrgyz - 4.3%. In most cases, respondents want to educate their children in Russian; every third respondent of Kyrgyz nationality wants their children to receive education in Russian. As for age, 16-29-year-olds expressed a desire for their children to receive education in English, as they consider English to be a promising language in the context of globalization. Respondents note the low quality of educational materials and literature in the state language, from external design to content. Secondly, the poor learning ability and the low level of education of specialists teaching in the Kyrgyz language, especially for school-age children, emphasized. Based on the results of the sociological survey, promising measures developed for the development of the state and Russian languages. At the same time, sociolinguistic studies show that the Kyrgyz language is not always the first language for all nationalities living in Kyrgyzstan. Due to migration and mixing of cultures, many citizens of Kyrgyzstan use Russian, especially in cities and in trade and economic sectors.
