Treatment of gastroenteritis calves in the conditions of natural-technogenic province of the Southern Urals

In the conditions of natural-technogenic province, where the objects of the external environment (soil, water sources, food) contain salts of heavy metals, the major causes of gastroenteritis in animals are lack of vital nutrients in the diet (protein, sugar, essential trace elements), high level of toxicologists (lead, Nickel, cadmium) and a sharp transfer of calves on a dairy-free feeding. These factors contribute to the decrease in the nonspecific defense factors of the growing organism and development of disease. The traditional methods of animal treatment are not effective. The work purpose is finding a method of treatment of calves suffering from gastroenteritis in the conditions of natural-technogenic province of the southern Urals. According to the results of clinical examination were selected 24 calves, sick with gastroenteritis. According to the principle of balanced groups they were divided into 3 groups: a control and two trial. All subjects used antimicrobial agents of broad-spectrum in combination with symptomatic therapy. Calves second experimental group additionally injected enterosorbent. Conducted comprehensive treatment, including methods of etiotropic and symptomatic therapy (broad-spectrum antibiotic, 5% glucose, caffeine, sodium benzoate), in combination with the introduction of mineral enterosorbent vermiculite allows the end treatment to reduce the content of heavy metals in the blood of the calves to the normative values, to normalize morphological (erythrocytes, leukocytes, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, hemoglobin) and biochemical parameters characterizing lipid metabolism (total lipids, cholesterol, total bilirubin) and antioxidant protection system of the body (malonic dialdehyde, ceruloplasmin, activity of catalase). The recommended method for treating patients with gastroenteritis allows to shorten treatment time, normalizes metabolic processes and promotes productivity increase.
