Transurethral pneumatic ureterolithotripsy for treatment large proximal ureteral stones

The aim of this study was analysis of the experience of transurethral contact ureterolithotripsy at the endoscopic treatment for large impacted upper ureteral stones. We used pneumatic lithotripter LMA Stonebreaker™. 55 patients had contact ureterolithotripsy. We registered stone size, stroke quantity for stone destruction, time of lithotripsy, convenience of lithotripter, damages of urinary tract during lithotripsy, cases of stone migration to kidney. Stones destroyed completely in all of cases (100%), removed completely in 82%. Stone migration to kidney detected in 18%. Damages of urinary tract did not detect. Transurethral pneumatic ureterolithotripsy using pneumatic litotripter LMA Stonebreaker™ is effective and safe method for treatment large upper ureteral stones.
