Treatment of acute mastitis with the use of bacteriophages in cows

The article presents information about the technology of phage lysate and its application in the treatment of mastitis in cows. The aim of the study was to study the qualitative and quantitative composition of milk microflora from cows with acute mastitis and to identify an effective specific bacteriophage for the treatment of sick animals. In the study of the role of conditionally pathogenic microflora in the etiopathogenesis of mastitis in cows of black-and-white breed, a comprehensive microbiological study of milk samples and exudates of udder of the cow with acute form of mastitis was carried out. There was found that in 98% of cases the etiological factor of this pathology is a non-specific opportunistic microflora in microbiological study of 235 samples of udder secretion of sick cows, which is released both in the form of monoculture and mixed form.
