Therapy of acute psychosis due to use of synthetic cannabinoids

Objective: to develop efficient strategy of therapy of patients with psychotic disorders due to use of synthetic cannabinoids. Material: 43 inpatients from 18 to 45 years were under therapy for use of synthetic cannabinoids (SC) and development of psychotic state between 2014 and 2016. Methods: clinical-anamnestic, clinical-psychopathological, clinical-follow-up, laboratory-instrumental, statistical. All patients underwent chemical-toxicological investigation of urine samples. Results: comparative study of therapeutic efficiency of different methods of treatment of psychoses due to use of synthetic cannabinoids showed that inclusion into complex therapy of psychoses of neuroleptic agents heightens efficiency of the therapy, improves adherence of patients to treatment and increases likelihood of withdrawal of patients from renewal of use of synthetic cannabinoids.
