Thymoma is a rare mediastinal tumor occurring in less than 1% of all malignant tumors, despite that thymoma ranges from 10% to 20% of all mediastinal tumors. Up to 40% of thymomas associated with different paraneoplastic syndromes, myasthenia gravis is the most frequent of them. In this work we analyzed treatment results of 43 patients with thymoma. In 14 cases tumor was associated with myasthenia gravis and in 29 cases wasn`t. We found that long-term results of treatment are independent from myasthenia gravis existence and determined only by disease stage and histological type of the tumor. Symptomatic treatment in a pre- and postoperative period is required in a case of myasthenia development.
