Legalization of unconventional marriages and some aspects of the international legal status of same sex unions

On the basis of comparative analysis and the use of statistical data, the author analyzes the process of legalization of various types of same-sex unions, which is typical for most foreign countries. In international law as a whole, there is also a tendency to legalize the same-sex (non-traditional) family. Based on the results of the analysis of recent years, one can see a clear trend in the recognition of non-traditional marriages in Western Europe, Scandinavia, South and North America. But the countries of Eastern Europe (Belarus, Russia and others), Asia (Turkey, UAE, China and others), Oceania (Indonesia), due to their religious beliefs and national traditions, disapprove of the legalization of homosexual unions.
