The purpose of the presented article is to study the influence of Enrofloxacin on the white blood system indices in chickens in conditions of experimental salmonellosis. In two sites (“a” and “b”) experimental infestation of chickens with Salmonella typhimurium and Salmonella enteritidis cultures was performed. The chicks of one of the infected groups in each experiment received 200 mg/l of Enrofloxacin with water 24 hours before and four days after infection. On the basis of leukogram analysis it can be assumed that S. enteritidis has a more significant effect on the immune system of birds, suppressing the effect of heterophiles. S. typhimurium inhibits immune reactions to a lesser extent, without losing its activity, causing a toxic effect over a long period of time.
