Lexical representation of the concept laziness in German and English languages based on the material of dictionaries

This article presents an analysis of the features of the lexical representation of the concept «laziness» in German and English on the basis of lexicographical sources, and examines phraseological units that represent the concept under study. The core and periphery of the «lazy» concept are highlighted. The core of the concept of «laziness» has been established as reluctance or inability to work, it has been concluded that for both German and English languages laziness has a similar lexical meaning and the same evaluative component, in most cases it contains a negative connotation, in addition, in the analyzed dictionaries in both languages contains stylistic notes.
