Misspelling as a means of speech portraying (case study of "Flowers for Elgernon" by Daniel Keyes)

The paper examines the usage of character’s inaccurate lexical representation of speech as a means of his character drawing. We give a short overview of this device and systemize the misspellings by their nature and frequency. The paper also focuses on possible ways of translating such inaccuracies into Russian.
