The article deals with the lexical and semantic functioning of the adjective “white” and its derivates in “Kolyma Stories” by V. Shalamov. There are analyzed the expressive and aesthetic transformations of the coloring word “white” and its derivates. There are revealed the basic groups of the functioning of the coloring word “white” in the Kolyma contexts by V. Shalamov.
