Lexical and thematic classification of the names of the settlements of the Kumylzhenskiy district of the Volgograd region

The article deals with the lexical and thematic classification of the names of the settlements of the Kumulzhenskiy district of the Volgograd region. There is given a historical and demographical characteristic of the district. There are defined and characterized the specific features. The authors reveal seven lexical and thematic groups and describe the peculiarities of these groups.
