Summer training swimming of the Committee of sea excursions in 1913-1914

The article deals with the organization of summer educational voyages by the Committee of sea excursions for students of Russian secondary educational institutions. The role of the Committee of Sea Excursions in the dissemination of knowledge on naval affairs among the population of the Russian Empire before the First World War is analyzed. It is noted that the summer training voyages conducted by the public naval organization largely contributed to the choice of the profession of a sailor for the domestic youth at the beginning of the twentieth century. As a result of the summer training voyages of the Committee of Sea Excursions, Russian students developed an interest in naval affairs, which contributed to the further professional orientation of its representatives.
