Knowledge of a foreign language as a mandatory competence required for work in the market conditions is quite an urgent issue today. In this regard, the article reviews the process of seeking appropriate technologies for teaching students a foreign language on the basis of a nonlinguistic university. This article describes the features of personality-oriented approach in higher education.
