Author's personality as literary text phenomenon (based on Strindberg's Novel “The red room”)

The article is a contiuuaton of the discussion about Strindberg’s literary heritage. This discussion was initiated by the 2012 conference held within “Swedish language days” project at Petrozavodsk State University. The article deals with linguistic interpretations of the author’s personality phenomenon. The personality phenonmenon was realized in the literary text in accordance with the laws of text formation. The main attention is paid to the law of text nomination, which proved to be rather effective when revealing the author’s personal motives of text formation. The article results in stating some facts about Strindberg’s language personality, which is represented in the text beginnings of his novel. All text beginnings include time indications, and this fact enables one to conclude that time as a phenomenon of surrounding reality was of great importance to the author. Special attention is paid to the sentence length, which seems to depend on the contents of the text. This fact is also interpreted as a realization of the author’s personality in literary text.
