Sustainable development of a modern society is connected with upbringing of an independent, responsible human of high moral standards, who can modify the world taking into consideration the universal values. The paper discloses the entity of such concepts as competence and key competence. The article analyzes leadership and innovation as key skills in the information-oriented society. These models are built in compliance with the ideas of existentialism, universal general system regularities and conception of the open organization systems control.
