Бесплатный доступ

The relevance of the study is due to the interest to the linguistic representation of the linguo-cognitive sub-sphere FAMILY in the structure of national linguistic worldviews. The purpose of this article is a comparative analysis of the category of blood and non-blood relationship in the Russian, Ukrainian, British and American linguistic cultures. The empirical data was taken from lexicographic and phraseological sources, using the method of continuous sampling. The obtained lexical and phraseological units reflect the content of the category of blood and non-blood relationship in the structure of the linguo-mental sub-sphere FAMILY. In the studied linguistic cultures, the category as a community of all blood and non-blood relatives has a core-periphery structure, which comprises the names of kinship and non-kinship relationships, characterized as "close relatives" and "distant relatives" correspondingly.
