This article is devoted to the linguocultural analysis of the concept “fate”/”яҙмыш” in the English and Bashkir linguistic worldviews (based on texts of fiction). In relation to an increased scientific interest in the problems of anthropology, the concept of “fate” occupies the central position in understanding the human nature, as well as in determining the ways of development of culture and civilization. Most linguists claim that “fate” is the key component of a worldview and belongs to a number of ancient and universal concepts. Linguocultural analysis of this concept contributes to the study of spiritual, cultural and social nature of ethnos. Comparative analysis of this concept’s realization based on two typologically different languages - English and Bashkir - is beneficial for a more complete exploration into the specifics of the above-mentioned nations’ mentality.
