Linguopragmatic potential of nonmorphemic processes of word formation in modern Russian and English languages

The article deals with the description of the peculiarities of forming new lexical units in the English and Russian languages. There are analyzed the processes of forming abbreviations, acronyms, truncations and the mixed types of the lexical units. There is substantiated the efficiency of the elements that are lower than morpheme in nonmorphemic processes of word formation especially in modern English language.
