The article contains a review of a unique collective study under the general editorship of Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A. L. Kazin «The fate of the Russian spiritual tradition in Russian literature and art of the 20th - early 21st centuries». The publication includes three volumes (in four books) and covers a hundred-year period (1917-2017). These books have attracted the attention of a wide audience and have received high awards and prizes. They also receive feedback from the scientific community in the form of reviews. At the same time, according to the authors of the review, the project needs both continuation and further understanding by readers and researchers who care about Russian culture and its future. This review-overview makes its contribution to attracting attention to the publications. It is dedicated to the first volume of the study, which concerns the most dramatic period of 1917-1934, and which has not previously received a separate response. The literature of the first wave Russian emigration is considered, which is a great cultural asset that has not yet fully returned to Russia and has not been opened to our contemporaries at the appropriate level.
