The article analyzes the pedagogical system of Johann Friedrich Herbart the classic of German pedagogy. Educational training, moral education and management as the mail characteristics of his pedagogical theory are described. The author confirms the unity and interaction of teaching and moral education in the theory of I.F. Herbart and the important role of the development of multilateral interest in achieving educational goals.
