M. Y. Lermontov in the criticism of the “Moskvityanin” journal

The article provides an analysis of critical assessments of Lermontov’s works contained in reviews by S. P. Shevyrev, A. E. Studitsky, K. S. Aksakov, A. S. Khomyakov, I. V. Kireevsky, Yu. F. Samarin, A. A. Grigoriev, published in Moskvityanin, the largest journal “Orthodox Particular attention is paid to the assessments of Lermontov’s poetry and prose of the leader of Russian conservative critical thought S. P. Shevyrev in the context of the controversy that he led with the head of the liberal critical direction of Domestic Notes V. G. Belinsky and with the critic, teacher and compiler of the “Complete Russian Chronicle…” (1843) A. D. Galakhov.
