The article touches upon the problem of the place and role of camera ensemble in the process of education and professional training of a musician from the point of view of one of the leading professors of Moscow state conservatory, who has been working there for many years. The notes, observations and methodological approaches, worked out by the professor during his many years of studying, are all in his diaries. The materials of these diaries are generalized in the article. The pedagogical experience of M.V.Milman, summarizing here, is based on the materials of his diaries, collected in the archive of Moscow State Conservatory after P.I.Tchaikovsky. The generalization of this experience helps to clear up the performing and lecturing traditions of Moscow state conservatory.
