Magnetic-resonance imaging in vaginal tumor diagnostics (based on the materials of methodological recommendations)

The joint analysis of semiotic signs obtained using new magnetic resonance imaging modalities significantly increases the diagnostic capabilities of the method, including due to the possibility of differential diagnosis between unchanged vaginal tissues in operated patients, tumor and fibrous changes of the vagina in patients with tumors of the female genital tract. The introduction of the developed protocol of MR-examination of patients with vaginal tumor lesion into the daily practice of radiologists and oncologists will increase the overall informativeness of the method, reduce the frequency of incorrect determination of the stage of the disease, and allow timely detection of the progression of the process. At the same time, the results obtained could be consulted by specialists of any medical institutions, which will reduce the frequency of forced MRI revisions.
